The Data Privacy Global Conference (DPGC) aims to facilitate the debate between new technologies and digital rights regulatory ecosystem actors while giving due support to Global South voices.
The first edition of the conference happened in November, 2022. The idea of organizing such an event came from the will to create a propitious space for exchanges between the main national and international actors involved in the debate around personal data protection, digital markets and social justice. Its main focus was to amplify knowledge on regulation through the Global South perspective in a qualified and multisectoral forum.
Aside from Brazilian panelists, the event hosted panelists from organizations based in Cameroons, United States, Ghana, Netherlands, India, UK, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Uganda, Uruguay, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
In the 2022 edition, there were 300 participants and 30 scholarships were offered through a public notice to promote diversity.
