Cristiane holds a Ph.D. in Economics, including a doctoral exchange program at Columbia University, a master’s degree in Science and Technology Policy, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics. She is an innovation policy specialist with more than 15 years of experience in research, consulting, and public management in Science, Technology, and Innovation (ST&I).

She is a federal public servant in the Science and Technology (S&T) career track and has served in several federal government institutions. She was responsible for the Technological Projects Incubator at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO, 2011–2013); served as an advisor at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI, 2013–2015); was a researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT, 2015–2017); a visiting researcher at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA, 2015–2018); a technical advisor at the Digital Policies Secretariat of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC, 2017–2019); General Coordinator for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Funding at the Secretariat for Professional and Technological Education (SETEC) of the Ministry of Education (MEC, 2019–2020); and Coordinator of the Planning and Institutional Relations Directorate at the Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company (EMBRAPII).

Currently, Cristiane serves as Director of the Department of Digital Transformation and Innovation at the Secretariat of Industrial Development, Innovation, Trade and Services (SDIC) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC).
